Eleven Minutes.......heard World Rocks in them

"I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It's all a question of how I view my life." Eleven Minutes

Eleven Minutes is said to be second best novel written by Paulo Coelho, the first being the charismatic, inspiring ALCHEMIST.

Eleven minutes is a very different book then the earlier one, because of the subject it deals with. I think it is very courageous for him to talk such a hard, unconventional subject. The nature of subject is such that, everybody is aware of it's presence in one's life, neighbor's life, in society but no one dare to talk about, speak about it in open.

It is a very nicely, well written book. This has proper balance of subject( Sex) and the inspirational, motivational take on life. I say it as well written because if he had written a bite more on sex then it would have been just another book dealing on subject and if he would have concentrated more on motivational, inspirational part then the book would have been dumped as yet another self- help book. He has very intelligently balanced both the part and produced a master piece , easy to read, absorb, feel fascinated, compelled to love it.

The story revolve around a girl named MARIA, who made certain choices in life or were made to make those choices by destiny but still there are certain paragraph where writer give reasons for the choices made and how everybody around ere doing same thing . No one is really happy because they are not what they intended to be, because there are certain thing in life where they are very vulnerable to world.
There are very nice paragraph where the feelings of man, women to sex have been described in a very sacred way. It brings out flood of emotion contained inside a prostitute in a very lucid way.
Maria a young girl betrayed in love, moves in life for all those thing she considered necessary for her being it living her home place, learning language, going to library to master her profession. It's a very interesting take on life depicted in book.
This give a very nice take on life, when he questions the very pillar of life where we name every pain, problem, uncertainties as normal because it happens to everybody. There is a very interesting character apart from MARIA, the Librarian. Through out her long married life she had refrained from discussing sex to her very own husband, just beacuse she thought it was normal.

It is a very good book, read it if you get a hand over it.
